Frequently Asked Questions

Digital axe throwing targets are virtual targets projected directly onto your axe throwing lane using a standard projector. Unlike traditional painted wooden targets, digital targets can display different games, track scores automatically, and provide animated feedback when players score. AxeScorer provides cloud-based software that runs in any browser, eliminating the need for expensive proprietary hardware.

To use AxeScorer's digital axe throwing targets, you need: (1) A projector mounted above your lane pointing down at the target area, (2) A device to run the projector display (computer, laptop, or streaming stick), and (3) A tablet or touchscreen for electronic scoring. Any standard projector works - we recommend at least 3000 lumens for well-lit venues. No special or proprietary hardware is required.

After each throw, a staff member or player taps the scoring zone on a tablet to record where the axe landed. The electronic scoring interface shows an interactive target - simply tap the corresponding zone (bullseye, rings, killshots, etc.). The score instantly updates on the projected target display for everyone to see. The system supports IATF and WATL official scoring standards.

AxeScorer includes official IATF and WATL competitive scoring plus a variety of interactive party games: Pyramid (progressive elimination), Tic-Tac-Axe (tic-tac-toe), Connect War (connect four), Axeman (word guessing), Quiz (trivia), Pairs (memory matching), Pop! (balloon targets), and Battleships. All games feature animated projected targets and real-time scoring.

AxeScorer uses simple monthly subscription pricing with no long-term contracts. You only pay for the software - bring your own projectors and tablets. This approach is significantly more affordable than proprietary digital target systems that require expensive custom hardware. Visit our pricing page for current rates.
